Material

The Ekn Footwear brand uses sustainable materials to produce its sneakers. In particular, recycled polyester, recycled neoprene, organic cotton and tanned chrome-free leather.

Dyeing

The brand guarantees that the dyes used in the production process do not endanger the environment or the workers who handle them. The REACH regulation, which is related to the chemical policy of the European Union, is complied with.

Production

The brand is responsible for ensuring that workers throughout the supply chain are provided with good working conditions that are monitored. They are therefore provided with a safe working environment and have adequate pay, respect, and the right to trade unions. At the same time, forced and child labour is prohibited.

Supply chain knowledge

The brand knows its suppliers up to level 3 - therefore it knows the supplier of raw materials.

Production radius

The complete production chain has a shorter path than 10 000 km.

CSR

The brand collaborates on certain products with the non-profit organisation Amnesty International and profits from these products are donated to the non-profit organisation.

Certificates

Is an alternative approach to conventional trade. The Fairtrade approach is based on partnerships between manufacturers and buyers of products. A fair commodity price (e.g. organic cotton, flax, etc.) ensures that farmers and workers get paid fairly, grow their crops with respect for the environment and their children can attend school.

An international non-profit organization founded in 1993. FSC certification guarantees that products have been created in accordance with the principles of sustainable forest management.

GOTS certification guarantees that the products are made of organic textile fibbers and the entire production process is environmentally friendly. This protects the environment, the health of workers and final consumers. At the same time, the Global Organic Textile Standard includes requirements for the ethical and social aspects of production. Farmers and production workers are provided with good working conditions.

It is an international standard that aims to increase the use of recycled materials in products and reduce the damage caused by the production.

Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 is a certification of textile goods that have not been produced using substances harmful to the human body. The products are made only from materials that are not harmful to health. The products are tested by an independent European research institute.

The PETA - Approved Vegan label guarantees that the products do not contain any animal ingredients and that no animal has suffered during the production.

Is international standard that helps companies create, maintain and use socially acceptable practices in the workplace. This standard primarily regulates and monitors the working conditions of the employees.
